Overnight flight to Hanoi
Day 2 Saturday Feb 18 HANOI
private transfer from Hanoi Airport to Hanoi Hotel (Elegance Ruby, superior room), dinner at Madam Heim RestaurantEnjoy a group dinner at Madam Hein Restaurant. Entrees are served family- style so you can try a bit of everything!
Day 3 Sunday Feb 19 HANOI
Hanoi city tour with half day puppet show, < Hanoi after dar by Vespa with dinner. Private tour of the Hanoi city highlights. Marvel at the tree lined streets on your way to the Opera House and pass by Hoan Kiem Lake en route to one of the city's fascinating museums of your choice; the Vietnam Military History Museum, The Museum of History or the Fine Arts Museum. Continue to the Temple of Literature, built in 1070 and dedicated to Confucius, for a quick escape from the busy streets. Afterwards, enjoy a private guided walking tour of the Ancient Quarter, also known as the 36 Streets District, where you will find a nice mix of ancient homes, temples and small shops. Then, enjoy a water puppet show and return to your hotel.

Day 4 Monday, Feb 20 HANOI
Ky Son Village Tour with lunch. Drive to Ky Son Village in the morning. Take a pleasant walk or bike ride around the village to get a taste of the northern countryside lifestyle in Vietnam. Continue to the Moon Garden to cook and eat lunch. Relax before setting out on a bike ride to Duong Lam Village with stops for photos and chatting with local children and farmers. Visit Mia Pagoda, some old houses, the Mong Phu communal house and Ngo Quyen & Phung Hung temples before returning to Ky Son Village. Return to Hanoi or drive to the next destination.
Day 5 Tuesday Feb 21: HALONG BAY
sea plane to Halong Bay, Transfer to the airport for a 45 minute flight to Halong Bay aboard a seaplane. Enjoy a 15 minute scenic air tour before landing on the Bay.
Arrive in Halong and board a junk for a cruise among the hundreds of islets of Ha Long Bay. Enjoy a seafood lunch and a swim (if weather permits). Drop anchor in the late evening for an overnight stay among the dramatic limestone peaks rising out of the sea. Day 6 Wednesday, Feb 22 HALONG BAY
Spend the morning cruising through the limestone cliffs and emerald waters of Ha Long Bay before returning to the wharf. Then drive overland back Hanoi (approx a 3.5 hour drive). Private Half Day Hanoi Street Artists Tour with Lunch Before arriving in Hanoi, we visit the the Hoan Kiem Lake area, where you will walk and meet the artists who carve pens, rulers and stamps. Have your name engraved and take the items home as small souvenirs. Also, make a stop by a studio in the old quarter of Hanoi to have your sketch drawn by a talented artist. Meet a "To He" artisan at a local cafe and enjoy some drinks while learning how a To He is made. Keep the To He as a gift from the artisan. After the tour, transfer back to your hotel. Lunch is included today.
Day 7 Thursday Feb 23- HUE
Private transfer to the airport to Noi Bai Airport for your flight to Hue. Domestic Flight to Hue
Reception at airport and transfer to Pilgrimage Village Resort and Spa, our hotel. Massage included.
Day 8 Friday FEB 24 HUE
Private Half Day Local Home Visit with Lunch. Explore classic Hue through the eyes of a local resident. Your exploration will start with the warmth and hospitality of a host and then the half day excursion will be filled up with stories and activities. The tour will give you insight into the culture and the daily life of the locals in Hue Traditional customs, the way of life, cooking traditions, and Hue's specialties are just some of the things you will experience. Enjoy a local lunch with your host's family.
Private Phap Lam Enamel Workshop - Hue's Phap Lam enamels were used for decoration in the palaces of Hue and other local architecture. The core is made with copper and covered with colorful enamel layers, resulting in a splendid vignette. Nearly two hundred years after it vanished, Hue's Phap Lam has been restored. The restoration will contribute to the revival of Phap Lam on royal palaces in the former capital. A trip to the workshop will teach you about this kind of art and give you a chance to make a piece of Phap Lam under the instruction of the artists. Take the art piece with you after finishing.
Day 9 Saturday Feb 25 HOI AN
We will be transferred to the train station in Hue for your 2.5 hour trip to Danang. The overland journey will take you through the most beautiful scenery in Vietnam as you traverse the Hai Van or "Cloudy Pass."
Upon arrival in Hoi An, transfer to our hotel Ancient House Resort and Spa. Private Half Day Hoi An City Tour with Lunch -This afternoon, take a walking tour of this quaint town, visiting ancient merchants' houses, a Hokkien temple, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, and the colorful riverside market. Lunch today is included.
Day 10 Sunday Feb 26 HOI AN
This morning we travel to the extraordinary ruins of My Son in a remote jungle valley. My Son was formerly the center of the Cham Kingdom and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. Over 20 well-preserved monuments remain. In the afternoon, visit a village specializing in copper casting, before returning to Hoi An. Lunch today is included.
Private Ancient Hoi An Lantern Tour. We continue on to visit a family-run lantern making business. This work is simple, and you will have the opportunity to design your own lantern, from making the frame to gluing the cloth. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and take a sunset boat trip on the Thu Bon River to Thanh Ha pottery village. Return to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the evening at leisure.
Day 11 Monday Feb 27 SAIGON (Ho Chi Minh City) One way flight to Saigon with transfer to our hotel
You will be picked up from our hotel (Liberty Central Riverside Hotel) and start your Vespa night trip by mingling in the crowd of locals going home after work. Take in the scene of complex traffic while riding through different districts of old Saigon. Stop by some street food restaurants to try Vietnamese seafood and crepes, as well as discover the diversity between the local Cafes with Vietnamese music and popular bars with the oldies, jazz or rock. Enjoy the music before returning to your hotel. (Total riding distance: approximately 17km/12 miles).
Day 12 Tuesday, Feb 28 SAIGON
Start your cooking course with a visit to the local market, accompanied by the chef, where participants get a chance to learn about Vietnamese ingredients and herbs. After the cooking class, the dishes will be served for lunch and all can sample the various dishes prepared by the chef and students. Enjoy an afternoon tour of China Town with your private guide. Cholon, which literally translates to "big market", is the focus of the Chinese community in Saigon. See the former Presidential Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, and Saigon Post Office. Continue on to visit the impressive Thien Hau Temple dedicated to the goddess of the seas, who is said to protect fishermen and sailors. Here, huge coils of incense hang from the ornate ceiling, and can burn for up to three months at a time. Visit Binh Tay Market and the surrounding area, which bustles with trading activity, and return to your hotel.
Day 13 Wednesday March 1st return to the USA
Transfer to airport after breakfast.
