                 Villa Claudia is a large, welcoming Villa set on a hillside between Florence and Siena.
The large kitchen is extremely well-equipped (including freezer, fridge with ice-dispenser, oven, dishwasher) with a large fireplace and dining table. As in every house of rural origin, it is perhaps the main space, where the family gathered after a day of work to enjoy those typical dishes that we still find today on Tuscan tables and that, on request, can be tasted and savored here by the guests also.
Entering the living room, one realizes that the person who restored this house did it with great care and passion. The floor is done in old terracotta tiles, the ceiling in chestnut beams and bricks, all authentic materials put together anew using the building techniques of long ago, and with particular care towards the comforts of contemporary living. One is impressed by the attention paid to every detail - the fireplace with the large stone architrave, the steps and thresholds in chiselled “pietra serena”, the decorated walls. Overlooking the living room one finds a comfortable study gallery with two sofa beds.
Still according to the architectural concept of rural houses, the three large bedrooms (two double and a twin bedrooms), with a parquet floor, are on the upstairs floor, and can be reached by climbing a staircase with stone steps punctuated here and there by wooden inserts. One of the bedrooms has a door leading out to a large paved terrace overlooking the garden and the pool.
The three bathrooms do not belong to the days of long ago, but to the world of the most modern technology aimed at well-being. Nothing is missing; not even the hydro massage, but here even cold technology is enveloped by the warmth that accompanies you in every corner of the house.
The swimming pool was not an original part of the house but was added later on; however, this patch of cool blue cut into the green lawn is in perfect harmony with the rest of the house. The dark wood edge of the pool offers an extraordinary sensation to the soles of one's feet, one can dive into the water from here or, if one prefers, from the diving board. The important thing is to enjoy the relief of the cool water, a priceless remedy for the summer heat.
One can sit and enjoy a drink on the balcony overlooking the pool, or else lie in the hammock that gently rocks us, as one breathes in the cool evening air. From the hills across the way, one can hear distant echoes of work going on in the fields. A fourth bathroom, built under the terrace that overlooks the pool, has also a sauna, which completes the picture of the relaxation offered.
