Cadenet is situated at the heart of the Luberon, between Pertuis and Lourmarin. The village of approximately 4,000 people,boasts a feudal chateau which is now a classified site and has a splendid view of the River Durance , the Luberon Valley, the Sainte Victoire mountain and the Alpilles mountains.Today the chateau is a cultural art center and an art gallery. There are some fascinating troglodyte cave dwellings at the basketwork museum. A the tourist office can organize guided visit of the village. On Mondays there is a provencal market and on Saturdays is a rural market.
