Villa Marcella

Villa Marcella is situated on the outskirts of a beautiful Provencal village and close to the medieval village of Les Baux de Provence and the well-known market town of St Remy de Provence. The towns of Avignon, Arles and Aix-en-Provence are close by and Marseille and the wonderful Mediterranean coast is less than an hour away. Villa Marcella in Provence is a beautifully restored 17th century farmhouse close 5 minute drive) to the historic medieval village of Les Baux de Provence.

The villa has five large air-conditioned bedrooms, all with private ensuite bathrooms, and two beautifully furnished 'salons'. The house is centrally heated throughout. The dining room overlooks the rear gardens through a conservatory styled area close to the modern kitchen which is fully equipped in a traditional Provencal style. There is a large study off one of the bedrooms, with a covered terrace overlooking the rear gardens.

A number of outside terraces enable you to relax and enjoy the fine views of the gardens with its olive groves, irises, and lavender which are typical of this ancient region. And there's a superb secluded 12 meter swimming pool with diving board where you can experience the natural tranquility of Villa Marcella in complete privacy. You can enjoy the Provencal game of "petanque" on the boules pitch under the pine trees, or simply take in a leisurely walk exploring the terrain.

Les Baux de Provence - just a 5 minute drive from Villa Marcella, your rental house in Provence - is officially classified and labeled as "one of the most beautiful villages in France". The medieval village has a wonderful selection of shops selling Provencal products as well as several restaurants with excellent reputations. 

A little further afield is Saint Remy de Provence, a charming village with beautifully restored old houses surrounded by lush countryside. The traditional Wednesday morning market in St Remy is renowned throughout Provence, and the beauty of the local countryside and quality of light inspired Vincent Van Gogh to produce more than 250 paintings around Arles and St Remy.

In addition to the area Villa Marcella being so richly endowed in beautiful villages and historic regional towns such as Arles and Avignon, there's also a wide variety of local attractions  including several golf courses, and daily outdoor open air markets,  world-renowned for their atmosphere, their colors, their food, and their bargains.
